We found this fantastic B&B on a link from the Canterbury Tourist Information website.
The building is a 150 year-old converted oast house, once used for the drying of hops for the brewery trade. Information on its old life is displayed all around the house together with other interesting books and pictures.
The conversion is well done and our room had a real homely feel about it.
John and Joan Hill who own the house, are not your average B&B owners. You really do feel as if you are staying the night with distant relatives/friends of friends. They are both as English as their house, and they made us feel both welcome and relaxed.
On their recommendation we had a truly excellent dinner at the Red Lion in the nearby village of Bridge.
Everyone sprints through Kent either to or from the Channel crossings. Take a breather and stay here. The historic city of Canterbury is 5 minutes drive away.
