Of all the B&B's we have stayed in in the UK, Sandown Guest House has been by far the best for friendliness, helpfulness, exceptional food, service and accommodation. Martin and Sonia went more than the extra mile to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfasts were especially memorable! Ron and Laurainne Williams, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

I just returned from my UK trip and I had the pleasure of staying three nights at the Sandown Guest House. Before I booked it, I read all the reviews and since I couldn't find anything negative about this B & B, I booked it. I can only confirm what has been written before. My room was cozy, new and... I have just returned from a fantastic two-night stay at this guest house and can not recommend it enough. It was lovely to stay somewhere where the hosts really look after their guests. I booked easily via email and was given a great rate for single occupancy in a double room - which was very much appreciated as us solo... More

This is everything you want in a guest house. Friendly, helpful owners; off-road parking; a warm, clean and comfortable room; soft towels, plenty of hot water; and a huge breakfast with cereals, toast and FULL English if you want it. They even had a selection of fruit teas. The place is very well kept, the room we stayed in was... More

The Sandown Guest House was just what I needed after a frankly horrific morning in Calais. Martin and Sonia were very welcoming and most gracious as hosts, and the room was so splendid I ended up spending an extra night in Dover. That's right, an extra night in Dover. Because of the room. I wholeheartedly recommend the Sandown to everyone... More

Don't post reviews much but when a place deserves feedback as much as this, I find it hard to refrain. A wonderful welcome from the start and flexible "can do" attitude from Martin and Sonia, even on a busy night and with only a few hours notice of our arrival. Breakfast is fantastic, wonderfully cooked and probably the best I've... More

Stayed a couple of nights with the boss lady and really enjoyed our stay. Helpful and friendly. The room was excellent, clean and felt very warm. Breakfast (fantastic). Martin and Sonia are terrific hosts and I would recommend the B&B to anyone. OH and Sonia even tok us and picked us up from a lovely little pub we had dinner... More

Really good. It is not too far away from the town centre and only 15 min walking from the train station. The bedroom was really beautiful and in a very good condition. The bathroom looked new and really clean, same as the bedroom. The landlady was lovely and really helpful and if I had to come back to Dover I... More

A comfortable bed & breakfast. Nice cooked breakfast and helpful hosts. The WiFi signal was weak and wouldn't work in my room so had to use the sitting room. Good value for money although they don't take credit cards and this caught me out.
