We used this place as an overnight stay before our early morning ferry from Dover. There is nothing else around this area unless you have a car which suited us fine. Just came back from our overnight stay at the Marquis. This restaurant-hotel is set in a stunning location, great for walkers and horse lovers. Absolutely lovely food, delightful staff, and elegant, smart decor. Only one slight drawback, in that our room, while comfortable and beautifully decorated, was over the kitchen so suffered slightly from cooking smells and the drone of what I presume to be the air conditioning or extractor fan.
