Good location, friendly staff, nice seas views of the Dover Bay. However... This hotel is tired and badly needs a refit. We booked a 2 night stay with the full upgrade. The "Superior Executive King" with balcony and sea view. Bed was 2 doubles pushed together, comfortable enough. But the furnishings were obviously cheap, the lino in the bathroom peeling... more

The Churchill in Dover is frankly a disgrace - check out other local hotels of which 3 are of a much better quality, similar price and in general a better bet than this. Room 422 was grubby, the bathroom was filthy, the towel rail over the bath was hanging off the wall, there was scum and mildew around the top... more

I last stayed at the Churchill in 2005 & returned this week to find nothing has changed If you enter from the 'Sea-Side' you will fall through the narrow medal doors and enter a time worp of 'just after the war' - a traditional reception with helpful staff, comfy chairs by the fire, and fine views of the Channel, and... more

This hotel is disgusting! We entered the filthy room and saw a swarm of bugs flying over the bed! When we told management they sprayed the whole room with Raid which left dead bugs laying all over the bed, and made us sick from the smell. They put us in a 2nd room and we pulled the string to the... more

Well, we should have looked here first before choosing this hotel for an overnight stay before leaving on a cruise. We usually have very good luck with Best Western in the UK, but this hotel must not have been inspected recently. First impression as we drove up to the hotel in a taxi was not good - lots of peeling... more

The Churchill Hotel in Dover saved our vacation! We had been booked elsewhere in Dover and changed to the Churchill after the first night. The staff at the Churchill was fabulous! Our 2nd floor room was quite large, overlooked the English Channel and had a private terrace with table and chairs. A beautiful setting to write postcards! Breakfast was included... more

I was really happy when I found out that our hotel is facing the sea. It was made better when we were given a room with a balcony facing the sea. I enjoyed the stay. Room and bathroom was clean, room service was fast, breakfast was so tasty and staff were helpful. I liked the area. Close to so many... more

Considering some of the reviews I was pleasantly suprised at my room (215) . Plenty of space, decent TV and internet connection for a cheap hotel. Clean and tidy. Shower curtain did drive me mad as it invaded the bath but the shower was excellent with loads of pressure (fixed head type just in case you are a lady with... more

Probaly the dirtiest hotel we have ever stayed in, everything from the bar glasses to our room toilet was filthy. the service in the dinning room was no better taking 2 hours to have a 2 course meal. the only saving grace was the view and the food was good despite a limited menu. Also very noisy all night. more

The location is fantastic - right on the seafront and one minute's drive from the hoverport, five from the ferryport. The room was amazing, because I've never had to go uphill to the bathroom before, but otherwise of a shabby English seaside hotel standard. However, we had booked dinner, B & B as we were planning to arrive quite late... more
