Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hubert House was great. We were 2 adults and 2 kids in one room. There was ample space. The room had a couch, chair, fridge and desk area. The bathroom was clean and had plenty of hot water. The woman managing the house, Farrah, is amazing. We payed for laundry service, dropped off our clothes and left for the day. When we came back, she had all of our things cleaned and sorted. We came in late drenched from the rain. She handed us another bag for wet clothes and then washed and dried those. She left us snacks and breakfast since we were packing out the next day. It was one of my favorite stops in England.

We booked this place my husbands 40th and it was totally amazing. Very small and intimate attraction to detail the interior and the history of this gorgeous hotel really was impressive. Very close to town. Very cozy and the warmth from the staffs absolutely made our stay more memorable. They took time explaining everything from day trips to food and directions. We definitely recommend this boutique hotel. Thank you Jay & Yukiko

We had a great time! Room was very clean and the staff is outstanding. Close to everything so you can walk. We found parking in their lot. Breakfast is very good and personal. Staff was willing to cook eggs to order. A very good place to stay and we would definitely go back.

Not sure exactly who the screaming lady is, but be careful when you arrive as you might fall on one of her bad days and thankfully we could drive back to London when they cancelled our reservation but someone else might have a proper disappointment. Little recap: - informed the hotel we don’t know the arrival time either 1pm or 4/5pm. Due to hiking and being unable to check in mid day 3pm - came at 1pm and parked at a guest car park, knocked the door/waited and sent booking.com message, no phone answer. - whoever the manager/old lady came screaming at us when we were leaving. And I mean running down the street asking why we left our car. Informing her we are guests and don’t need a check in just leaving a car didn’t help. She continued screaming with all kind of nonsense including that we had to put a written note saying we are guests - because knocking, ringing, messaging and her standing right in front of us was not enough. While screaming she stormed away asking how many rooms we have. We had 1 room at a price of 211 pounds a night…nice, right. - hotel wrote to me saying we were “approached” due to us not letting them know the car registration number (ok we kind of forgot) but we specified the car. Only 2 cars at the b&b parking accommodating 6 in total were there at the time. 2 including ours. I replied that the manager war very rude, we didn’t know about the number and if we need to inform them when we actually come (back to that hike:)) - we went hiking at Dover cliffs with (if anyone has been) no mobile reception. To come back at 7 to find out our reservation was cancelled :) I literally can’t explain how rude, aggressive she was. I genuinely was just shocked…well we, 3 people were there. It was such a minor little issue which did not need such behaviour. Happy end for us for sure! So thankful they cancelled, we thought we will come back to scratched car with blown up tyres.

The room was perfect, very clean and beds and linen were so nice and comfy. Better than in other hotels / guesthouses I stayed in. Bathroom super clean and we were provided with toiletries and towels. Location is perfect - one street leads straight to Dover Castle and another one leads to White cliffs of Dover. Restaurants were 10min walk from the accomodation. Sara (the owner) recommended few restaurants and the food was great. We will definitely book again when we visit Dover again. Oh, and breakfast was very delicious and big.

😊 clean large room, comfortable bed. ☹️Awful smell when you walked in the reception area smelt like an old people’s home, the room Was Nothing like the website pictures of the bedrooms, the telly was fixed on a wall facing the wall where the door was, so that you couldn’t lay in the bed and watch it, No mirror in the rooms part from shower room, so if someone using shower and wanted dry hair unable to and no lock on toilet door or did the door shut fully, toilet felt like it was on a slope. The shower is utterly dismal couldn’t even wash my long hair as the water trickled out and got more water from splashing myself from the sink. Worst hotel room ever nothing matched all mismatch stuff just to fill the room, Well over priced For a dysfunctional room. Hostess was pleasant, but well and truly over powering when we arrived, waffles on about restaurants etc and showing us a map of the area Of where to go, would of been nice to have just been told the basics and given the key to our room. Will not be returning and unfortunately with the really poor shower and dysfunctional room couldn’t recommend it for the money.

While on a golf vacation to Kent, I spent three days at the Hubert House while playing several courses in the area. The manager/concierge answered all questions and provided directions where needed. The room was well-appointed, clean and comfortable. Yes, I would stay there again!
