Stayed 2 nights, weekend before Christmas when the whole of the South East was snowed in. We took the Hush Heath suite and the Wolf Blass. Both beautiful, relaxing and quality accommodation. Comfy beds, power showers, silent, central location. Food in the bistro excellent quality. Stay was a present to my 81 year old father for looking after my mother... more

Stayed with friends to celebrate a birthday party for partner. Private function room for dining booked - menu not released until 2 hours before supper - very unimaginative with limited choices. Had terrible trouble in the organisation as the front desk is hopelessly managed - severe staff shortages meant phone kept tripping through to accounts department - expect much more... more

I stayed at the hotel as part of a wedding party, that also had the celebration in one of the function rooms. The atmosphere, food, staff and rooms were exceptional quality, although a little small - which, considering the age of the building, isn't the hotel's fault. The beds were amazing and the showers are something in themselves, I'd go... more

Service was excellent and we were upgraded to a superior room despite booking a cheap promotion for Dinner, Bed & Breakfast. A bargain if you can get it at the right price. more

This was our fourth or fifth stay at this hotel and our least enjoyable. Partly due to the room and partly the price for value. First, the room, called “Chapel Down”. Well appointed like all HdV’s but the bathroom fell down badly. Yes, it has the monsoon shower but the bathroom mirror was almost unusable. It’s set back well over... more

Our initial reception lacked the quality we expected as we were offered a place for dinner at 9.00pm. That was soon amended and the rest of our stay was perfect - lovely room, lovely restaurant and garden- however soon the outdoor areas of some premises will need to provide areas for non-smokers before we are driven to go inside for... more

We stayed for one night over the August Bank Holiday weekend and had an amazing time. Our room was in the annex (the 'Cottage') and didn't have the greatest of views, but we didn't go to stare out of the hotel window all day anyway. The room was spacious and it was actually more like a suite, with a separate... more

We stayed for a night with a couple of friends recently and although a great building with a spacious feel we felt the hotel lacked a welcoming feeling. Our room was average, there was no light bulb in one of the table lamps and we were missing soom of our much raved about toiletires, although these were provided on request.... more

...I have to agree with the other reviews, the service in this hotel let's it down. On the positive side: great location, lovely building, good sized room, large and LOVELY bathroom. As a smoker, the little 'room' in the garden with comfy seating and tables was a luxury. Food was also good, although breakfast was served luke-warm, but this was... more
