Stayed with friends to celebrate a birthday party for partner. Private function room for dining booked - menu not released until 2 hours before supper - very unimaginative with limited choices. I stayed at the hotel as part of a wedding party, that also had the celebration in one of the function rooms. Service was excellent and we were upgraded to a superior room despite booking a cheap promotion for Dinner, Bed & Breakfast. A bargain if you can get it at the right price. more

This was our fourth or fifth stay at this hotel and our least enjoyable. Partly due to the room and partly the price for value. First, the room, called “Chapel Down”. We stayed for a night with a couple of friends recently and although a great building with a spacious feel we felt the hotel lacked a welcoming feeling. Our room was average, there was no light bulb in one of the table lamps and we were missing soom of our much raved about toiletires, although these were provided on request.... more
