The position of this hotel is fab, unfair to say 5 minute walk to town, to my mind you are in town! Great location!!! We had a standard room, and it was very nice, good size room, overall was very impressed. As others have said the car park was tight but it looked to have enough spaces if it were... more

Friendly helpful owners make it worth visiting Elder Grove. Great location within 5 mins walk of Ambleside shops, pubs and resturaunts. Superior room was nice. The public areas were a nice touch - a comfy lounge and a basement bar, with free internet and news papers. Excellent cooked breakfast made with quality ingredients, home made jams, bread etc. Only slight... more

We have stayed at Elder Grove twice and both times the stay has been superb. Spotless rooms, lovely breakfasts and the owners are very nice. I really would recommend this guest house to anyone and we will be going back. more

It's quite some time since I stayed at a B&B in the Lakes and boy what an eye-opener it was. Our stay at Elder Grove was booked on-line extremely efficiently. Everything said by previous reviewers is quite correct - comfortable, courteous hosts, splendid breakfasts, the most powerful shower I've ever encountered, gorgeous toiletries and, to top it all, a spectacular... more

A friend and I stayed at Eldergrove B&B and had a very comfortable stay. It was in a great location for driving out to other parts of the Lake District and had a great choice of restaurants and bars for the evenings. We also found a lovely spa to have a much needed treatment at the end of the week.... more

Very friendly owners, only too happy to please and help.I was given a lovely double room only needing a single and a bargain at that too.£25 for a double room and ensuite. We have been spending holidays in The Lakes at the Elder Grove for 7 years now. It is our benchmark with which we compare any other accommodation we stay in. We are always made to feel welcome by Paul and Vicky. The accommodation is first class, nicely decorated and furnished. On this occasion we stayed in the newly refurbished Superior... more

Elder Grove is a gem of a B & B - my husband & I have stayed here several times & never been disappointed. The rooms are clean & each one lovely. Paul & Vicky are good hosts but leave you to get on with things. It is situated close to town & has its own car park which is... more
