On a recent weekend trip to the Lake District, we stayed at this wonderful guest house. We arrived late on Friday but were cheerfully greeted and shown to our room. The room was clean, comfortable, and well fitted.
The next morning we were greeted by the smells of the cooked English breakfast wafting up the stairs. The food was well cooked and tasted wonderful. There was more than enough on offer to fill us up and prepare us for the day. While we didn't take advantage of this option, we could have requested a lunch or flask fill-upbe prepared for us to take on a day hiking.
Our hosts enquired after to our plans for the day, and offered suggestions for sights to see as well as recommendations on how to choose the best option given our limited time in the Lake District. At the end of the day, they enquired about how the day had gone and did we enjoy it. They also held our luggage for us on the last day in order that we did not have to take it with us on our walk.
