We found these holiday cottages for a short break in February. They are on a farm about 1 1/2 miles out of Ambleside, up the Stock Valley. Lovely and peaceful, with four 1 or 2 bedroomed cottages and a recently refurbished farmhouse which sleeps up to 10. We had a sneak look around all of them and they're all very clean and well equipped, with wifi and satellite tv. The farmhouse itself is fabulous - contemporary furnishings and decor but with the old features of the farmhouse retained. We thought this would be great for get togethers of either family or friends, in fact we're planning one ourselves for later on this year.
Our cottage just had one bedroom but was lovely and cosy. It had a little sitting out area - not that it was warm enough to use! - but we can imagine it being great in the spring or summer with a glass of wine. There's also a communal BBQ area.
