Stayed there for a couple of nights recently and had a great time. Facilities at the hostel are good, a kitchen for preparing food and a large dining room, place overall was clean and beds were comfertable. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. We have both stayed in hostels all around the world but have to say that this was the best nights sleep we have ever had. Comfortable beds with new thick mattresses!!! The hostel was clean and comfortable with great powerful showers, well needed after a day's hiking to Sca Fell. The kitchen is large and clean and great for cooking... more

a perfect backpackers base in ambleside, 2 minutes from the bus stop, getting there and getting away - 2 minutes walk into centre of town to pubs, eateries etc. rooms have views of the fells, coming back from a day walking it was a pleasure to sit by the window & watch the sunset over the peaks. the hostel itself... more

I write this review to anyone who fancies a weekend away with the boys. 20 of us are currently recovering from a 4 day stag do to Ambleside. We stayed at the Backpackers Hostel.
