Just got back from 3 night stay at the Old Vicarage, which i booked for my wifes 29 birthday, and it didn't disappoint! We took our 19 month old boy, who is a bit of a handful, but had absolutely no problems there. The staff are very friendly, our room was spotless, and the Breakfast was plentyful! We made good use of... more

slightly outdated decor, pleasant owners, great for pet owners.slightly overpriced however with the beautiful location and private parking cant grumble really.lovely restaurants nearby,in the heart of the village.loved the extra touch of having an extended video collection to use.i do think room service needs working on though as the young girls wanted to do this in their time rather than whats convenient... more

This B and B is the size of a small hotel. It is conveniently located for all restaurants, shops and country park with an added bonus of parking (you wouldn't get this with most other small Band B's in Ambleside. The staff were warm without being over friendly - which works for me. There is a handy fridge in the... more

The welcome at the Old Vicarage couldn't have been better. It was raining and we were ready for a cuppa after the journey, we were greeted by the owners and after signing in were offered a pot of tea and coffee in the sun room, this arrived with biscuits and flapjack too which was a bonus treat! We love historical... more

We booked the Old Vicarage via Go Lakes just a week ahead of time. It was very friendly and welcoming, with free carparking on the days either side of our 1 night stay a real bonus. The place itself was clean and the room had obviously been recently redecorated. We had a jacuzzi bath and separate stand-up shower, a four... more

Lovely Grounds but that's about as far as it goes. Owner was not very hospitable. Bedroom and bathroom very outdated and requiring a good clean. Shower terrible. My back is still recovering from the bed which was really soft. Would recommend the Saluation just up the road. more

We arrived at the Old Vicarage, we had a look round the B&B had lovely grounds. Went to look at the swimming pool apparently they don’t take the cover off until 4pm. We had to have a dance round the shower to get wet, very poor. I definitely would not recommend this B&B to anyone. more

We have just got home from the old vicarage after a two night stay with our 3 boys of 7. 5 & 3. We loved it here, the family who run the B & B were so friendly and kind, it was lovely, really comfotable, well positioned for town, a lovely welcoming place. Even the the decor was quite old... more

Probably the best B & B we havestayed at and absolutely perfect for dogs. Yes there are rules but ill disciplined dogs are a reflection of their owners and they should not be allowed to keep them in the first place. The location is perfect - a park nearby with adequate bins, right in the heart of town with plenty... more
