We booked the Fisherbeck on the strength of the trip advisor rating. We thoroughly enjoyed our break in Ambleside, the hotel has a great location, just a shade closer to town than the lake. I've been staying at the Fisherbeck now several times a year for about 5 years and really feel like one of the family. This year I returned to see a newly decorated lounge and breakfast room which were stylish and modern, creating a lovely space to enjoy brekfast, drinks or a snack. The Fisherbeck is a lovely little hotel just minutes on foot to the shops and restaurants of Ambleside. The staff are warm and welcoming and the service very efficient. Great location five minute walk into town or five minutes the other way to the lake. Large car park which is unusual in Ambleside. The hotel was very clean and well decorated. Great small hotel ideally located for touring the Lake District by car. Only 10 min stroll into centre of Ambleside and 15 min to top of Lake Windermere. Stayed 4 nights. Lovely hotel which is spotlessly clean. breakfast is excellent with a wide choice of good quality and well cooked food. Staff are polite,friendly and helpful.Rooms are comfortable with change of towels daily-our room had a balcony with lovely view. Ideally located with only a short walk into town.
