I don’t know where the other reviews stayed – but it wasn’t the same Wanslea I stayed at! Room and public areas all a bit worn and in need of updating. Small windows (on top floor) made room feel claustrophobic. Staff ok but nothing special, breakfast ok, but don’t go for continental – all you get are two croissants! Only... more

A fantastic little guest house - very close to the lake and walking distance into Ambleside which was ideal for a meal or drinks in the evenings. Richard and his team keep the Wanslea Guest House very clean and well kept. The full English breakfast was excellent and the optional extras at breakfast more than sufficient.
