We stayed here a few times in 1998 & 1999. This lodge is in a perfect location, just a short walk from one of the loveliest towns in the UK. The room was great, a four poster bed and hot tub. Breakfast was great too. More

Even though we had been asked to advise Ambelsdie Lodge of our time of arrival there was no-one there to greet us. At reception was a tatty piece of paper with a telephone number written on it. After a few attempts we eventually got through to someone who came down to take us to our room which was freezing cold.... More

Upon walking in to what seemed like an unoccupied building, It was very dark and the unmanned desk was a telephone with a note asking to ring for assistance. Pulling into the drive way, gives you nothing but high expectations, however once you walk though the door and are met only by a counter sporting a bell (which may or may not work) and a scrap of paper with a phone number wrote on, makes you wonder. I've stayed here 2 years running now with a group of friends. The owners are friendly, rooms clean, and the breakfasts very nice with a good choice. Vegetarian and a choice of how you like your eggs are no problem. Nicely set back from the road, which means no traffice noise.....a problem in other B & B's in Ambleside. All... More

This B&B is in an excellent location and looked after by a friendly family. Location is just 10mins from the waterside and 2mins from the shops -what more could you ask for?
