First time user of Low Wray and I can only very highly recommend it. The site is very well set out with good toilet and shower facilities and a well stocked shop. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the views fantastic. The site was full and more than capable of coping with the numbers and still gives the... more

We chose Low Wray campsite for it's location and possibility of a tranquil holiday, we were very wrong indeed! When we arrived it was very nice being able to chose our pitch, we chose next to the lake which we paid a premium of £7.50 per night on top of the pitching fees plus an extra £1.50 per night for... more

I camped here for 2 nights with my girlfriend recently. It was a weekend and the site filled up so quickly from 1pm on Friday afternoon that it was a bit of a rush / panic to get a good pitching site. we paid the extra £7.50 to camp by the lakeside and it was worth it because the other... more

Pitched our tent near the park (was one minute walk from the lake), our daughter made some good freinds. Was not too far from the facilities which were basic but clean, plenty of hot water. I would say a very clean, freindly place with good views and central to most activites in the lakes. Get there early to get a... more

Writes Clydeg:- This camping site management is not too strong on thoughtfulness. The site consists of several multi-tent areas, over a wide area which is poorly or generally unprepared for tents. Most of the ground is uneven, ie. Unflat, and you are told on check-in which area you are allowed to choose a pitch in. Rules are enforced vigorously, so... more

hey dont know what all the fuss is about, i had a great time here, the staff were helpfull and friendly, they found me a pitch when the site was nearly full, i couldnt get a spot next to the lake, where i could launch my canoe, but this wasn't a problem, i just wheeled it down to the waters... more

The rules do feel a bit extreme – although they are all listed on the website despite other reviewers having overlooked them, so my advice would be to check you comply. We fell foul of having a tent too large for the ‘group’ camping areas (groups being more than one tent and a maximum of four singles or two families)... more

We tried to stay on a saturday night, queued for the reception desk and filled in our forms while we waited. When I tried to book in, the warden asked where we'd like to pitch and I replied that anywhere with room for three couples (with a total of five children under ten) would be fine. He then announced that... more
