We stayed here for the great north swim at Windermere, on arrival the staff were very helpful and gave us a map to our pitch and gave a few ground rules. The pitches are large and are well spaced out, you can not park on the pitch but parking areas are close by. The facilities are excellent plenty of hot... More

Truly an amazing campsite, the staff really make it what it is, laid back, relaxed, well maintained, excellent well stocked shop. You get what you pay for - it's a little expensive but well worth it. I would recommend you buy the local sausage, pork and apple burgers, bacon and the fresh baked pain au chocolat from the shop. Yum!... More

Stayed here twice last year (2012) and got to say I love the place, set nicely next to lake Windermere it's a bit pricey as campsites go but you don't get the idiots :-) good facility's, play area and well stocked shop. The staff are really friendly and help at anytime if needed .. Will be back this year for... More

Stayed here in a camping pod for one night in late April. Prompt response to email requests I sent. Very helpful staff. We were able to check in early. Camping pod clean with beautiful view of lake Windermere! Lovely area, clean toilet block, good facilities. Highly recommended!

This is the 3rd time we've been back in 2 years... as groups and as a family. Great Base. Nice sized pitches. Struggled with parking occasionally next to your pitch. Mostly (as a lady) the showers are clean and free (not had to queue once but do go at non peak non family times i.e after 9.30 am or after... More

Just spent 3 nights in Bluebell Yurt- very happy with the experience, as we are non campers. Log burner came in handy as very cold overnight, but all the facilities to cook and relax were available. The view was stunning, when it wasn't raining, either in the sun, or watching the snow on the hills across the lake. Recomend the... More

We enjoyed it here and intend to come back one day. Friendly staff in the shop, nice walks in the area and far away enough from civilisation, but close enough at the same time if that makes sense! The facilities didn't look too old and worked a treat.

I'm not one to return to the same place twice, I like to check out new places and experience different things, however, I stayed here in July last year and we had a lovely time. A little annoying that you can't check in til 3 (I hadn't seen this and of course we set off early to get there and... More

Just stayed for one night on Sept 29th 2012. Great site with good showers/toilets/wash facilities. Pitched on the mound near to reception, which was good as it poured down through the night. Went diving in Lake Windermere and was able to reverse car down to waters edge to drop off dive gear. Helpful guys in reception and very clean site.

Stayed at Low Wray for 3 nights in September. Had a tent pitch in wooded area which was great for two hot days as it provided good shade. However the third night it rained heavily and the water dripping off the trees seemed to make it last longer and louder than in the open field. That will be a consideration... More
