from the moment we arrived we felt at home, its so relaxed that you almost forget you are in a B&B, we stayed in room 8, which has a great view over the rolling hills, clearly the property has been tastefully renovated, we cannot stand stuffy dining rooms where you feel you have to wisper, not here, Tim the owner... Our last minute visit to Haven Cottage turned out to be a delight and I thoroughly recommend a trip there. Tim and Lindsey are attentive and switched-on hosts, who do their very best to help you to have a great visit - recommending places to eat, making sure guests are comfortable and helping you to feel genuinely at home. We... More

This is the second time we have visited this year and our visits must add up to quite a few over the years now.We just can't help going back to see Tim, Lindsey and of course Jake! This place just feels like home now. We love all the rooms and i think we have stayed in nearly all of them.... More

We are so glad we were pointed in the direction of this B&B by Trip Advisor. As it was our anniversary we treated ourselves to a stay in Room 8 which was gorgeous, very stylishly decorated and had a boutique feel. The views from the room were fantastic, and the location was perfect as it was quiet but you could... More

We have just come back from you second visit at Haven Cottage and we cant wait to go back again! We took advantage of their discounted offer and stayed in suite 6 this time, and what a treat it was! We had our own balcony with a lovely view over the fields, our own lounge with TV to sit in,... More

This is a perfect B&B, a real home from home, and Tim and Lindsey did everything to make our stay special. They are both two of the most genuinely lovely people and their outlook on life is reflected in their hospitality and cottage. The food was all fresh and home cooked (some things home made by Tim) and locally sourced.... More

I booked because of the reviews and wasn't disappointed. Lovely cottage feel, funny hosts (well sort ofTim:-) ) daft dog, great breakfasts, great views and a great place to stay. You can hear the road during the day but nothing stirs at night. For those who mentioned the small rooms, one or two are but not all and anyway, the... More

We enjoyed our stay at Haven Cottage so much that we extended our stay. We were lucky that the room we were in was not booked and we were therefore able to enjoy the warm and friendly hospitality of Tim and Lindsey for two extra days. The Lake District is absolutely beautiful and we were delighted with our accommodation and... More

We had a lovely welcome from Tim with tea and cakes. Tim and Lindsey will bend over backwards to make you comfy (even we Australians). We had been concerned about our 2 large suitcases fitting in the room. We were staying 3 nights, so unpacked what we needed into the ample drawer space available. One case fitted under dresser and... Well what can I say....Fantastic springs to mind. My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights,on arrival we were told that Tim & Lyndsey were on holiday, all I can say is that the B & B was left in very safe hands, the welcome we received was so friendly but not in your face, tea and homemade cakes were just what...
