Excellent B and B with lots of little touches that usually aren't thought about. The Norwood is run by a very welcoming helpful couple, which makes all the difference. Our only complaint would be that there was a small amount of mildew around the shower in the otherwise spotless bathroom. more

No, the owners aren't cheerleaders, but they have the greatest welcome that I've encountered in my 2 week stay in UK. Norwood House is located in the centre of Ambleside within 5 minutes walk of the shops and restaurants. The host met us and loves to talk. He is an expert on the Lake District so can advise all the best walks. Unfortunately we were there during mid term school holidays when the sign should go up "lake district is full".... more

Keith and Lyndsey offer a very hospitable welcome to their b&b. Great location for walking. The b&b even has a drying room for (very wet!) walking gear - not many b&bs offer this. Superb breakfasts to set you up for the day. more
