Paula is a legend! Such a friendly and kind person, making you feel incredibly welcome. The house is gorgeous and cosy, with the room being first rate. All of the little touches such as the food, dvd's, coco the cat etc make this place unique. We are already planning to go back and stay again before Christmas! The best b&b... more

Visited Glenside on August bank holiday with my husband. This was our 2nd visit and was every bit as excellent as the first visit. As others have commented Paula is a fabulous host. She makes you feel very welcome and will go out of her way to help. Coco the cat is often available for petting- very cute Breakfasts are... more

We have now been going to Paula's at least 3 times a year for the last 5 years which speaks for itself, we find Paula's hospitality second to none and the place itself is so comfy and homely. The standard of the rooms are excellent as is the enormous breakfast which sets you up for a good days walking in the... more

We stayed just for 2 nights on our honeymoon and also my 1st taste of the lakes, it was amazing! Paula is the most wonderful host and the fresh fruit salad will stay in my memory forever. Will be going back later in the year if she is not fully booked because of all the rave reviews. more

We stayed at Glenside for 2 nights in February. Paula (the hostess) was very welcoming and made us feel completely at home! The room was lovely with beautfiul furnishings and a private bathroom down the hall. The other rooms (the Blue and Red rooms), both have en-suites. A fantastic breakfast with high quality ingredients set us up for a day... more

Stayed in the Red Room for two nights in January 2009 and would thoroughly recommend this B&B. We have stayed in Ambleside several times over the last few years at various different B&B's and Hotels and Glenside rates very highly in comparison. The prices are good, there's off street parking, nice cosy living room with open fire, lots of nice... more

All rooms are beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean.Glenside is ideally situated in a nice quiet spot just set back from the main road approximately five minutes walk to Lake Windermere. Paula our... more

Despite a freezing Easter outside we got a warm welcome inside at Glenside. We were greeted with a roaring fire, and a warm smile as we arrived. The breakfast was brilliant, the rooms were beautiful. Rooms were very clean, and had everything you may need on a cold winters night. I would certainly recommend a visit to Glenside, and as... more

We've stayed at Glenside for two nights to unwind from a shopping trip. The real fire upon entrance expresses the warmth of this guesthouse. Paula is very friendly and even suggested interesting places where to visit. The breakfast was excellent and definitely high quality. We stayed in the blue room which has a double bed and a single bed in... more

We had a fantastic time. The Hostess (Paula) could'nt do enough for us. The Location is perfect ,close to the centre ,but quiet with fields behind & a large garden for visitors. Plenty of private parking (this is important in Ambleside). Choose between 3 rooms (red/green & Blue) we were in the red room with on-suite. All the rooms are... more
