We stayed at the Rysdale for 3 nights and also in room six and loved it, yes the bathroom is not made for having a party in but lets face it, you shower and visit the loo and thats it! We stayed in Rm #6. It's tiny, especially the bathroom. The room is decorated tastfully and dreamily, the large windows looking out are grand.. but it's right on the main drag. The problems started when I arrived to be told the on-drive parking space I had booked had been promised to 3 other guests. Given the parking problems in Ambleside this is a nightmare! The Rysdale is a warm and welcoming haven in an otherwise frosty little town. It is very welcoming and it is absolutely spotless. The rooms are very well appointed and the decor is lovely.
