Link House is situated in a beautiful part of the Lake District and is a superb place from which to base yourself for exploring the surrounding area. Stay here if you like to be that bit further out of the towns, yet with easy access to both Keswick and Cockermouth, by either bike or car. The Guest House itself enjoys... more

I have stayed a number of times at Link House and on all occasions I have found the owners Keith & Wendy, to be very hospitable, friendly and welcoming. Link House is situated at the head of Bassenthwaite lake about 10-15 minutes drive from Keswick. The house is kept in very good condition and is spotless and comfortable. For the... more

We had another lovely stay at Link House over the New Year. Keith and Wendy provide a relaxed and informal atmosphere, yet run the house with easy efficiency. Fabulous breakfasts freshly cooked with local ingredients set us up for a couple of good days walking in bright frosty weather. Link House is perfectly situated adjacent to good walks from the... more

I went cycling in the Lakes on Friday and Saturday, stayed Friday night at the welcoming and friendly Link House due to its location. The first thing I noticed was the view from the front of the house - you really do know that you've arrived in this beautiful area of the country. Inside, the single room was spacious and... more

This was my fourth visit to Link House and on each occassion have found it to be of excellent value. There is always a very warm and friendly welcome and Keith and Wendy are extremely helpful. Sitting in the dining room having an excellent breakfast and looking at the wonderful views opposite sets you up for the day. I would... more

This is a clean, comfortable and well equipped guesthouse which is massively let down by the grumpy and sometimes downright rude owners. They made it quite clear that we were unwelcome guests in their home and cast a shadow over what was a very special weekend as we attended a friends wedding. If you want a good breakfast then you... more

Found the place very unfriendly. The showers alternate between hot enough to make a cup of tea to cold with little inbetween. The breakfasts were ok but served by the worlds grumpiest man who seemed to take afront at people being in his home. I've stayed in many B&B's but found this over priced and sadly unwelcoming for such a... more

I stayed in a single room with a bathroom. The room was clean and comfortable. Whilst not a huge room, there was easily enough space for one person. The bathroom was clean and functional. The public areas of the guest house are nicely kept and the owners are extremely friendly. The breakfast is good quality - the black pudding was... more

A nice little guest house with welcoming and friendly owners. Loads of local information and handy for a wide range of walks. Breakfasts were good and set you up for the day although times from 8.00 to 8.30 were a bit early during the week. Room was OK but nothing exceptional. Bathroom was far too small and you needed to... more

This is the best B&B we have been in. Our room was generous in size, comfortably furnished and with a beautiful view over fields to the mountains. (Other rooms were less so.) A particularly attractive feature is the delightful sun parlor available to guests, comfortably furnished and stocked with games, books and maps, and there are sitting areas on the... more
