We have just returned from a lovely night spent at Winder Hall. We booked the hotel through an offer and regreted it slightly after buying it as it was so far from where we live, however it was well worth the journey. As we arrived we were greeted and shown around, the warm and lovely smell of the open fire... More

Whilst not the most straight forward place to find once we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by Polly who showed us our room, the lounge and restaurant area. We had a delightful walk around the village calling in at the local church which was built around the 12th century. Arriving back at the hotel we were served... More

Met up with some friends for a training reunion in January. The owner Nick Lawler is a great host, and a real asset to the area. Guided walk up Honsiter was refreshing. More

Took my wife here for her 65th Birthday, she loved it after an apprehensive start. Arrived on a cold wet twilight afternoon; met by Pauline who promptly showed us to the lounge, dining room then our room a unique way to start your stay. The room in the attic was cool not a warm welcome, so we rapidly went down... More

As we booked this through Groupon, we were sceptical at best and having had previous bad experiences with Groupon, we didn't have high expectations. What a huge mistake (In a pleasant way for once). This quent but more than adequate guest house far exceeded our expectations and having sampled their hospitality, their accomodation and Food, we can only report GREAT... More

Joan, thank you so much for your amazing feedback on Katrina and Chris's wedding. It was such a pleasure looking after them, and Will was delighted that you loved the food so much. We really hope that we'll see you again soon, and we're hoping to see some photos of the wedding! Your daughter looked so stunning. Thank you again... More

We stayed in November on a 'groupon' package. Afternoon tea on arrival, dinner with champagne and canapes and B and B. This is a genuine Jacobean Hall . Smaller than the photos suggest because the wings at either side are not the hotel. Small but very special. Beautiful food, excellent staff and very good accommodation. The area is wonderful and... We stayed at the Hall over new year as we wanted to relax after a busy christmas, we could not have picked a better place. The Hall is in a beautiful location and with only 7 rooms it feels very exclusive. We ate in restaurant at both breakfast and for evening meals. The breakfast was a well presented full english...
