Second time i have stayed with my girlfiend now future wife, must say it is superb with lovely rooms clean and tidy with fresh sheets and excellent bathroom, complimented by the kind hosts and excellent breakfasts. This was our second stay this year at Six Castlegate. Alan and Angela have turned a lovely Georgian ex Gentleman’s Residence into a very stylish and friendly B&B whilst being very sympathetic to the original fabric of the house. As good as the other reviews say. It is the little touches that really make it - the information pack in the room is excellent and should be copied by all B&B's! You can bring in a takeaway and use the lovely dining room, which is great for cutting costs, although there are plenty of good places to eat in... more

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at 6 Castlegate. We had a wonderful time there. The owners, Alan and Angela are brilliant hosts, they couldn't do enough for us. Impressed by previous articles we stayed at Six Castlegate for 2 nights whilst exploring the Northern Lakes. The accommodation was first class, welcome was very friendly but not pushy, breakfasts exactly as asked for. We would recommend this guest house to anyone and would appeal to singles couples or families more
