Absolutely felt like a home from home. Immaculately clean, beautifully furnished, luxurious extras (bedding, hot tub, breakfast basket and complimentary kitchen goods especially lovely). We left feeling utterly relaxed abd chilled out - what a beautiful place. (We stayed in The Lodge...can't wait to go back and stay in the cottage some time soon!) We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this... More

If you're looking for a place to stay in the Lake District, then this has to be the best avaliable. The accommodation itself is just gorgeous. The interior design is stunning and the Lodge contains everything you could possible wish for including the wood for the fire, a fully stocked kitchen, breakfast delivered each morning, board games, multiple TV's and... This is our 4th visit, but 1st time in the Lodge. Don't know which we prefer as they are both fabulous, maybe the cottage has more character, but the Lodge wins on the views and extra space. There can be nothing better after a good long walk to come back to the warm, comfortable Lodge and soak in the lovely... More

We stayed in the cottage. It's not really a cottage but one huge wing of what must have been staff quarters many years ago. You approach into a large courtyard and the accommodation is the left hand wing, with undercover car parking. It's totally self contained and private with a small front garden (unless you count the young cattle in... More

What an amazing place. This was our fourth trip and it won't be our last. If you are looking for a self catering cottage with the feel of a 5 star boutique hotel then this is the place for you. We have stayed in both the cottage and the lodge and both are amazing. Vanessa is a fantastic host and... More

We stayed here for four nights in November and had a fabulous week. I couldn't fault the property or the host (Vanessa). The breakfasts were yummy and the champagne/chocs on arrival was a lovely treat. The cottage itself is huge and sumptuous but with very practical touches (e.g. hair dryer AND straighteners, salt/pepper/herbs in the kitchen). I would readily recommend... More

We stayed at Annss Hill for my wifes 40th Birthday. It was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. The morning breakfast basket was perfect as was the cake that we also received one morning. The location was lovely and the Lakes easily accessible. Even the Hot Tub in the cold, dark nights was fabulous Vanessa the owner... More

What can I say, we stayed in Ann's hill cottage for a 4 day break and after spending a year organising our wedding it was just what we needed. A nice quiet location ( but close enough to Cockermouth town ) a beautiful wood burning stove in the living room, the most luxurious bathroom I've ever seen, a kitchen with... More

We stayed at the Lodge for Christmas in 2010 and it was so good we went back again for Christmas in 2011! The Lodge is completely private situated on a shallow slope above Cockermouth with it's own walled entrance, it feels like a mini mansion! Inside it is spotless, stylish and luxurious; it has more room than a couple or... More

We spent a long weekend at Ann’s Hill for our wedding anniversary at the end of June, and it exceeded all our expectations. It’s situated just outside Cockermouth, which is a lovely area of the Lakes to explore and far quieter than the touristy Windermere/ Ambleside (although not that far to drive to if you do want to see those...
