My first review was not posted properly so wanted to try again,My friends and I had just ridden the Fred Whitton cycle sportive and we were in serious need of some good hearty grub and few pints to help the recovery process. As we walked into the Wilson Arms we were greeted by Katie the waitress asking us how we... More

We enjoyed out second stay of the year at the cottage attached to the pub. You could not wish for a better place to stay, the cottage is furnished to a very high standard and they have thoughts of everything. The log fire is lovely in winter and we used again one night in May. The hot tub was fantastic... More

Just returned from a 2 day stay at the Wilson Arms. Have stayed there before but now that Fran & Matt have taken control it is even better. The place has been renovated inside and out. New decor has brightened up the restaurant. The food portions are still massive but thanks to Keiron the range and quality has improved. The... More

Stayed for one week in the Mews and had a great time. Accommodation was very well appointed and catered for all needs. Although self-catering we ate mainly in the Inn, choosing from the regular or daily specials menu. The meals (ingredients from local suppliers) offered very generous portions and were good value. Three courses if you want plus bread and... More

We were up for a nice (middle-aged!) stag break, actually staying at the local mountain club hut, but being looked after by the Wilson Arms - and "looked after" is the right phrase. With people coming from all over the country on the Friday, they laid on a delicious late evening feast that meant I for one was glad that... More

Popped in for a quick lunch and stayed six hours! Yes honestly. We ordered sandwiches and chips for us and the kids. Whilst waiting our daughter found the dominoes. A couple of games later and the food arrived, really good quality and mainly locally sourced. My husband by this time had got a taste for the local Coniston Brewery Bluebird... More
