Luxurious adult only bed & breakfast accommodation in the heart of Grasmere. Fabulous en-suite rooms with stunning views. Car parking. Traditional Cumbrian breakfast. A real romantic retreat where a warm welcome awaits. Sorry we are not dog friendly.

Lovely place, got all info in advance re letting ourselves in etc. free parking. Excellent breakfast, very friendly staff (Craig and Chis). Stayed in the suite / comfy sitting room and large bath/shower room downstairs with nice bedroom upstairs. Roof tce with area to sit outside bedroom would have been fabulous if only the weather had been better, would be lovely with a cracking view in the summer.

Perfect location, a lovely suite and great staff serving breakfast - Chris on sat morning and Craig sun morning. Full breakfast couldn’t have been better. No issues whatsoever. Recommendations for evening meal were great too - Tweedies one night and 1979 the other.

My husband and I stared overnight for my Birthday. We had a lovely time staying at Heidi’s. Accommodation, breakfast, and welcoming was wonderful. They catered so well for gluten free. Thank you to the team, we will certainly be returning.

We were staying in a nearby hotel and decided to pop in heidi's for coffee and cake take away with us on our day out... Amazing lemon drizzle cake and best coffee I've had! Staff are so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed it so much we called in again the next day for coffees for the journey home. Definitely visit again next time we are in the lakes to try more things off the menu which all looked amazing....highly recommend

We had a group of 9 of us looking for breakfast during half term. Emma couldn’t do enough to seat us all together and make us feel extremely welcome. The choice of breakfast menu was excellent and the service was fast. When the food arrived it was hot, tasty and well presented. Water was available to help yourself too and the coffee was great. Another bonus is how dog friendly the cafe is. Overall great food and atmosphere. Thank you Emma and team.

Our 2nd visit to Heidi’s Lodge. Just as comfy and cosy as the last time. We stayed in room 4 which has low beams but adds to the charm. Huge en-suite with bath and separate shower. Centrally located in Grasmere. Breakfast was delicious and the staff are really welcoming and chatty. Craig was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and walks that we would enjoy. The waterfall one was stunning. Thank you Craig and all the team at Heidi’s, for your hospitality and a wonderful overnight break. I’m sure we’ll be back !

Our second visit , same room and another fantastic stay with great hospitality and breakfast , very welcoming only issue was first night guy upstairs kicking off causing a lot of noise for a while , that can’t be managed unfortunately just how some people are , hopefully back in the summer .

This hotel has the rudest employees I have ever seen. Checkout time was at 10:00 in the morning. When we were about to leave your room, at exactly 10:05 someone came and very rudely reminded us that we had to leave the room. Apart from this, although the room we stayed in was the best room, it was very uncomfortable and small. It is impossible to carry your luggage in the corridor. The check-in experience was also very bad. A completely tourist trap hotel

Response from Heidis Grasmere Lodge, Owner at Heidi's Grasmere Lodge
Responded 27 Dec 2023
It’s such a shame that you didn’t get to know us as we actually are a friendly team but maybe sometimes we react to how we are treated in the first place. It was actually 10.15 am when an employee came to your room, you had put on your breakfast sheet that you were coming down for breakfast at 10 am when breakfast is actually served between 8 and 9 am. You hadn’t turned up for breakfast by 10.15 am and we were keeping a table in the cafe for you. However you shut the door in my employees face after she reminded you that check out time is 10 am. She is a young girl and found her experience of you scary. Especially when you then came down to the cafe to complain about her attitude and proceeded to speak about her, in front of her.

A cute place to stay in the Lakes District. Mind your head in you get the cute, attic room. Craig was a fantastic and personable host. Brekky was fantastic and again great service by Craig. Be sure to visit the Gingerbread cottage and sample some fresh gingerbread and fudge.
