A great location, with warm friendly and helpful hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for Roz and Darren who treat you like their extended family, but at the same time are not intrusive. The rooms and bathrooms are so clean and the beds are very comfy. The breakfast's are great and set you up for the day even if you... More

We spent four nights at Ivy Guest House. We were welcomed by Roz and were looked after by Darren and his mum who were excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean and Darren's breakfasts were more than adequate. He was very keen to ensure we made the most of our trip. We will definately stay... More

We stayed at this B&B for 3 nights and it was great. Darren, the owner was very helpful and gave us some good tips regarding were to go and what to see. Breakfast was good and the room was nice and clean. There was a very warm atmosphere in the B&B. There are 4 pubs which serve food in the... More

We had a great few days at Ivy Guest House - welcomed by Roz, Darren and Chris (Darren's mum). Located close to the centre of the village but quiet enough for relaxation, this was the ideal spot for a short walking break, with walks starting from the village in all directions. We were particularly impressed with the friendly hospitality shown... More

A lovely guest house in the middle of Hawkshead. Darren, Roz and Chris made me and my dog feel totally at home and couldn't do enough for us. The room was great, as is the whole house. Breakfast was excellent with a choice of continental or English which you can oder the day before and select the time you want... More

Spent two nights here midweek at a special rate of £110 for a double room B&B. Great attention to detail and the finishing touches that make a stay so enjoyable. Would not hesitate to return. Right in the centre of this lovely village and with parking too. Well done Darren and family. More

My wife and I stayed at this guest house with our 20 month old girl. Darren and Roz couldn't do enough to help, and make our stay 100% enjoyable. They are instantly likeable and really strive to do all they can, they even bought our girl a teddy bear which was nice for her. Honestly cannot find a fault with... More

Ivyhouse is now an excellent b&b under new managers Daz & Roz. Forget all the old reviews we had a brill time. The fourposter bedroom we stayed in was fantastic, breakfast is excellent and the little extras in the room make the stay even more enjoyable. We booked for two nights but stayed for three it was that good. Well... More
