After having spent a sleepless night in The White House, Bowness, we travelled to Hawkshead and luckily a room was available in the Old Schoolhouse. This is a delightful place. Turned up without reservation to find a cancellation room. The hosts were very friendly and polite. The room was very clean and tidy, location fantastic, and the breakfast was really fulfilling. All in all a lovely place to stay. more
