A little hard to find, but worth the effort! Our room was very spacious, with a kitchenette, sitting room, large bedroom, and bath. We loved the views of the gardens and orchard from our balcony. We felt as if we had the whole place to ourselves...very peaceful and quiet. Chef Mark prepared delicious foods, even for non-vegetarians. more

Very peaceful and good value. Lovely rooms with great decor and very well equipped though bed could have been more comfortable. Even if you aren't vegetarian I think you would like it here. A packed lunch option would have been good for walking guests more

If you like peace and beautiful surroundings this is the place to stay. Yewfield is a beautiful big old house set in its own grounds. Yewfield is quite a bit away from the main activity of Ambleside and Hawkshead, but that is why it is such a wonderful place to stay.
