My husband and I spent the last 2 nights of our UK holiday in Mulberry Cottage. As my husband has dietary requirements and we have spent a few nights in B& B's we were looking at self catering to suit his needs. We also wanted somewhere special to end our great time in the UK. What a wonderful place we... More

Yewfield is that very rare thing: a vegetarian B and B (but to call it a B and B is ridiculous, since it's a magnificent country house hotel really). We were very well looked after and the room was comfortable (and warm, thank goodness......it was pretty bitter outside, despite it supposedly being the first day of Spring). They do a... More

I'm very reluctant to review this place as I fear it will become very popular and I want it to be MINE! It's tucked away at the top of twisty-turny roads and is just a delight. A peaceful place to return to every evening after a brisk walk in the beautiful hills of the Lake District - lovely log fire... More

4 nights in Yewfield for us again in March 2013. We were well looked after and made very welcome. Plenty of effort made when we were the only ones there for some nights. We walked to the Three Shires pub and back for a 7 ish mile walk that was not too steep or rugged but had nice sandwiches and... More

I think we stayed here in April 2012 whilst I cant recall the exact dates I do recall enjoying the stay immensely! The room was lovely, very well appointed and comfortable. The rest of the property well kept and just as well turned out. The grounds beautifull and well tended. Good breakfast. I remember not being able to book a... More

Stayed three nights in the tower Suite, with the 2 evening meals/cinema deals at Zefferelli's & Fellini's. Yewfield is off the beaten track, near Hawkshead which is a charming village to go for a potter. Ambleside is a short drive away. Veggie breakfast was terrific, with plenty of choice & loved the homemade bread & yoghurt. Meal deals at Zefferelli's... More

My wife and I stayed at Swallows Nest, a two bedroom self-catering apartment on the same site as Yewfield Bed and Breakfast, for a week over the Christmas period. The location, a 35 minute walk from Hawkshead, was ideal for a relaxing week of winter walking and mountain biking in Grizedale Forest. The apartment is more spacious that it appears... More

My sister and I have just arrived back from a stay at this lovely b & b. Beautiful house, cosy and warm just what you needed after a long hike up in the mountains. We choose Yewfield as we had seen the offer in the Cook vegetarian magazine. The hotel had such a homely feel, good breakfast, lovely room. On... More

Short break in Yewfield which was comfortable in a spacious quiet room but had a view over the fire escape and wood store. Bathroom clean and modern but shower not as efficient as it looked. The boxy TV with about a 12" screen was very outdated and not comfortable to watch with older eyes. Wi-fi available but definitely not useable... More
