Been to The Station Inn many times and the food was first class, this time the mussels were to die for and a perfect steak, plus first class service, would recommend you dine there, plus there is a wonderful playground for your kids

We ate here twice while on holiday on recommendation and were not disappointed. The food was good home cooked and fresh and the steaks are highly recommended. Great kids menu to and good family put with outdoor play area. We didn't stay in the accommodation so cannot comment on this.

I have eaten here several times over the years and it has never been great, but went for a lunchtime meal last week and thought that I would play safe by ordering the chicken ciabatta with french fries. Stayed here for a night while on a visit to Lake District.Clean and well kept rooms.Good value for money.No idea about the food since we all slept off and missed the breakfast lol...A stone's throw away from Oxenholme train station.

The Station is our local and we have eaten there lots of times. Went for the steak night (Weds and Thurs) which was fantastic value with flavoursome, tender meat and a generous portion served by pleasant if a little distant staff. Unlike some of the previous reports I found all the staff very obliging, professional and pleasant. There is a comprehensive menu and a choice of smaller portions on some dishes which included a very tasty lasagne. Extremely handy for the railway station or for heading out of Kendal towards Sedbergh and the Yorkshire Dales.
