Booked this on spec as I needed something for one night near the Arts Centre. Was not disappointed. Really lovely house in an ideal location. Comfortable and well appointed room with everything one could need. Extremely clean. Lovely hosts and a parking permit (right outside the house) to boot. Highly recommended!

We stayed here during Easter 2013. Great place to stay, breakfast was lovely, room was nice and clean. Hosts were very friendly and hospitable. Location is good, close to town centre, ten minutes walk, where there are plenty of restaurants to go to in the evening. Would stay here again.

Just spent the last 2 days at the Hillside and could not fault it Very friendly helpfull hosts with good local knowledge. Room very comfortable clean and well decorated. Plenty of choice for breakfast all well presented and the cooked very tasty. Good position for the south lakes.Would certainly reccomend the Hillside.

After a weekend stay in a four-star hotel in Leeds, we were looking forward to the far more delicious, frreshly cooked breakfast at the Hillside, and as before we were not disappointed. Thanks again for another excellent weekend's stay. Just as before, a warm welcome to a spotlessly well maintained guesthouse with all the facilities you would expect. A hearty breakfast, a central location - yet quiet - an in-depth knowledge of the area if you need advice on where to travel / visit. Looking forward to returning.

Ideal location only 300mtrs from centre, room was spotless with a large ensuite, room no 3, breakfast very tasty and plentyful,Wendy and Richard were very helpful and full of local knowledge.Would recommend this B&B.

This was a really great place, friendly, excellent breakfasts, nothing too much trouble. It's very well situated, spotless and comfortable, with parking. We will certainly head there as a first choice when we go back to Kendal.
