The Lodore is a good hotel with excellent service. The downstairs areas such as the restaurant, bar, grounds, pool, tennis courts etc are fantastic, top drawer. There are plenty of comfortable seating areas with sofas and arm chairs where you can pick from a selection of books to amuse while enjoying something from the bar. The food is excellent and... more

Thank you so much to all at the Lodore for a simply marvellous stay! Everyone involved from my initial on-line enquiry to getting my stored luggage for me on my last day after I had checked out was incredibly helpful and polite. All the staff treated me so well and there was no being made to feel awkward as I... more

We booked 4 nights at this hotel following some research & based on previous reviews on this site. We were not disappointed. The staff are all very efficient & friendly & we couldn't fault the service at all. We stayed in a refurbished room with a view of the fells & aside from a couple of small stains on the... more

Onsite parking is not "on site" but across the road behind the building opposite. Reception was quite brusque but generally the service improved and everone else was friendly and courteous. The hotel itself is a beautiful building set in lovely gardens with a view of the lake and mountains. We did not realise that there was a pool and leisure... more

Arrived on25th April, the stay was a surprise 50th birthday for my wife, from checking in to checking out 2 days later the stay at this hotel was pretty darn good. We had arrived early, the reception staff were on the ball arranging to store our bags and let us explore the hotel until the room was ready. The public... more

We stayed at the Lodore Falls over Easter - We got married on Easter Saturday and spent three nights their on our honeymoon. We had a number of complaints, some only small but nevertheless important to us. We filled out our comments card and asked to be contacted by a senior manager - as yet we haven't heard a thing... more

We turned up on spec on Easter Monday and got the last room available. This is classic English hotel with a homely feel, lovely building, great staff and location. Check-in and check-out was smooth, room service was efficient, the lounges were comfy and the rooms were very good. I knocked off a star for rooms because the wireless Internet connection... more

Travellers take note... Stayed in the Lodore for 2 nights recently to celebrate my 40th Birthday. Expected high quality from the reviews I'd read here but was very disappointed and angry at the end of my stay. Firstly, the 'Family Room' is just a normal room with a couple of single camp beds shoved in it. Very little space. The... more

I have checked the paperwork for your reservation and can confirm that the receptionist did quote a rate of £376 which included dinner on the Saturday night. She did explain that dinner was an exrtra £20 per person, which is why the rate wasn't £336. I do regret that you choose to cut your break short and would advise that...

I have just returned from a three night stay at this hotel with my husband. This was a very late booking and the hotel was very busy so we probably did not get the best of the rooms but even so it was very comfortable, spotlessly clean – the only thing letting it was the view – straight over the... more

Many thanks for your comments, the whole team here at Lodore are trilled to know that their efforts are being appreciated. I'm sorry you felt the wine list expensive. We do have house wines starting at £17.50 which we believe offers great value in such stunning surroundings. As you say the Dafodill Break does offer tremendous value and is just...
