Hotel was good staff were helpfull, however parking was a nightmare due to limited car park,(about 12spaces if that) and only 2 disabled spaces making it difficult for me and other disabled guest`s,there was a public car park oppositeoff which the hotel had a number of passes, however when we arrived on the saturday it was market day and as the market... We stayed for 3 nights in room 24 there were three rooms on our part of the second floor, we found the foom was a bit small but the bathroom was large and shower excellent, but it was also very warm and sleeping was inpossable without the windows open, being in the middle of town ment it was noisy even... Spent a Saturday night here. As other reviewers have said, it can be and was noisy because it is opposite a late night bar/disco. It appears that most of the rooms are at the front so you can't avoid it. That said, with judicious application of earplugs I slept well in the comfortable and fairly spacious room (36). The staff... Parking in Central Car Park, behind the hotel, makes access very good and you can get a permit from the reception desk (don't lose it, though, or you will get a hefty bill!) The hotel is right in the middle of the town, so easy for shopping. Our room faced the alley at the side of the hotel so was... More

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and we thought the food was excellent. We upgraded to a Summit Room which although was lovely, was incredibly noisy. We should have realised there might be a problem when we saw Earplugs in the room! Keswick seems to have become the... Stayed here with work as a group. Stayed in room 36which was a good sized room and adequate for what I needed. Staff great , food okay but breakfast better than evening meal. Also it is noisy outside so they provide ear plugs which was quaint! Didn't pay so can't comment on cost. Was well looked after and would return... More

Just back from a 2 night stay in a summit room booked through Secret Escapes. Room 37 was lovely, spacious and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was very large with a deep roll top bath and separate shower. The hotel's location was wonderful: once we had parked up and used the free parking permit we didn't need the car again. The... More

Bought a 2 night stay from Secret Escapes and ended up staying an extra night. The room was compact though the bathroom was huge; both recently refurbished to a high standard. We stayed in Room 21 (which strangely is the fire escape route) with a wonderful view over Cat Bells. The food was good quality and the Secret Escapes menu... More

We booked a two night stay at the skiddaw with secret escapes with dinner bed and breakfast and paid extra to upgrade to a summit room. After reading some great reviews on here we were looking forward to a great stay. On arrival we parked in a council car park at the rear of the hotel and reception give you... More

Dear Laura W. Thank you for your review of your stay with us. I am sorry that you were unhappy with certain parts of our hotel. As you mentioned many hotels take a swipe of your card and this is to preauthorise a certain amount of money which remains in your account but is on hold. We used to do... More
