Where to start! We arrived at the Allerdale, had help bringing our bags upstairs and then sat down for a cuppa with the owner Tony. I was warmly welcomed by Helen, shown my room and offered a coffee in the lounge. My single room was spotless, lovely bed, over bath shower, tea&coffee facilities and flat screen TV. Last minute decision to go to the Lakes. Found Allerdale House on the Website and as soon as I had made the enquiry got a phone call from Helen confirming availability. Tony and Helen were the perfect hosts, the house was spotless, very friendly, huge breakfasts, they could not do enough for you, even helping to plan your day for you and advising on where to go, places to eat etc. Would recommend to anyone, close to town centre, parking off road, perfect destination, you will not be sorry you chose... more

Allerdale is a very well run B&B with many beautiful pictures/prints on the walls. Excellent breakfasts, off street parking, and location close to town centre. I was there during warm weather so cannot comment on level of heating during cold spell. more
