This delightful B&B has more in common with a boutique hotel than a guesthouse given its clean white decor and furnishings, luxury toileteries and quality breakfasts. The unusual and rewarding breakfast selection includes delicious home made granola, bacon or soft cheese bagels, crepes with fresh fruit cocktail and maple syrup in addition to a fine traditional english breakfast. David and... more

Just got back from a night away in Keswick. Found Oakthwaite via Tripadvisor and I have to say the reviews were spot on. It's a little gem of a B&B. We were in the kingsize ensuite room. The room was clean and tidy and smart. The ensuite more than adequate. The cooked breakfast in the morning would fuel you well... more

I booked this B&B based on previous reviews on Tripadvisor and it was every bit as good as expected. David and Karen are very welcoming and cannot do enough for you. I booked this visit as a surprise for my Fiance's 30th birthday and when we arrived in our beautifully decorated room there was a chilled bottle of sparkling wine... more

The nicest b&b we've stayed in, lovely quality furnishings, spotlessly clean, fantastic breakfasts and extremely friendly hosts! David and Karen were very helpful in recommending walks and knew lots of places to eat in Keswick, although the breakfasts kept us going for most of the day. Wine chiller in the dining room for guests use was useful after a long... more

Beatiful house. David made us very welcome, helped carry our bags in. A little bag of goodies and chocolates on the pillow. Lovely, small, modern room. Sparkling clean. Fantastic breakfast - croissants, granola, porridge. Great chat with David over breakfast (also a teacher). more

Just returned from a fantastic weekend break at Oakthwaite. David & Karen were both extremely friendly and knowledgeable about walks of all levels of ability. The walk from the B&B to Walla Crag took about an hour and was well worth the climb as the views were spectacular. Our room, the king size, was excellent with a good view of... more

After reading the great reviews on Trip Advisor, my husband and I felt confident we were making the right choice when we made our reservation. We were not disappointed. We received a warm welcome from Karen Faria who runs the B&B with her husband David. Karen showed us to our room, which was beautifully decorated. The bed was immaculately dressed... more

Not only is this a great B&B with alot of nice touches thrown in, but Keswick is truly a wonderful place to base your visit to the Lake District. Out of all the places we stayed at on our 17-day trip of Britain, both my wife and I liked Keswick the best. We arrived rather late in the day, tired... more

My husband and I stayed for two nights, end of April beginning of May 2008. I have to say it's one of the nicest B&B's we've ever stayed at. The thoughtful touches of goody bags and bottled water, all make for a relaxing comfortable stay. We both had full English breakfasts and they set us up for the day nothing... more
