The Brantwood Country House Hotel, Stainton, Penrith, Lake District, England.

We recently spent a vacation in England and visited the English Lake District. We had the good fortune of staying at a hotel that had been recommended to us - the Brantwood Country House Hotel in the village of Stainton near Penrith. It was excellent.
It is a small quaint hotel in a perfect position, real easy to find off the M6 motorway, not too busy, and only minutes drive from the beautiful Ullswater and other lakes. Stainton is a midsize village, peaceful but with plenty to do, and just a couple of miles from the old town of Penrith.
The bedrooms were very comfortable with everything we could have needed and the public rooms were the same.
The restaurant was better than we could have dreamed of with an excellent menu, lots of choice and daily specials with local produce. The food we ate there, the lamb and the steaks and all kinds of dishes, were some of the best we have had... more
