Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The lodge smelt lovely on arrival , the cleaners do seem to do a great job. But we were left with a what I assume to be dirty rug outside our front door the whole holiday despite us letting customer services know it was there. They said it would be collected but it wasn’t. However when one of the children was poorly on the bed they did provide clean bedding (a day later than they told us so good job we weren’t in dire need). These are minor things really, and I suppose comes with the high expectations of Center parcs. Overall we had a lovely care free time

Brilliant break with the family & dogs - the first time we've taken them with us & it was great to see how CP are accommodating them with fabulous secure fields. We had lovely meals in the restaurants in the evening and loads of walking, badminton, table tennis, swimming during the day. Can't wait until November & the Christmas lights!

We spent Friday to Monday at Whinfell Forest, accommodation was great, our lodge was excellent, spacious and well equipped. The facilities that are free like the swimming pool and flumes were popular but well organised and we found most destinations on site within a reasonable walking distance from our accommodation. My major gripe, as I would imagine is probably most people’s main issue, is the pricing set by Center Parcs whenever you want to buy something, they are fully aware most visitors are a ‘captive audience’ and to this end they have adopted a ‘motorway services’ pricing policy bordering on the scandalous. Pint of Carling £6.75 !!!, cheese and ham toastie in Starbucks £5.60 !!!, an hour of pool to hire the balls £14 !!!, eating a meal in Bella Italia on site, high prices, small portions and of course they refuse to accept the ‘blue light discount card’ which all Bella Italia restaurant recognise, because and I quote “its part of Center Parcs”. In summary, accommodation, layout and atmosphere at the park is great, costings and Center Parc’s determination to rinse anyone wishing to buy anything on site is incredibly disappointing.

Spacious lodge . Beds very comfortable. Only negative was that the floors didn’t look like they had been hoovered ,moped . Possibly an over site . Easily rectified, as cleaning equipment in a cupboard by the front door . Large supermarket, prices around £1/2 more than home . I always take own breakfast food , bits of snacks and food to make sandwiches . We had takeaway delivered to our lodge on the Friday. Very expensive , small portions and not the best . Would not order again . We are out at Hucks Saturday, very tasty and reasonable priced . Booked before we arrived . Sports Bar , had nibbles ,chicken wings loaded fries ,whilst watching football. Tasty and once again reasonable priced . Activities there a loads to choose from we enjoyed fencing , crazy golf and enjoyed walking through the forest . Always enjoy the peaceful surroundings and no traffic policy. We of course visited the water /splash centre. Very enjoyable and can spend a good few hours in the centre. Centreparcs is what you make it . In the past we have visited with extended family and hired larger lodges and two next to each other when the children were younger (ages 5 upwards) . We visited for the Christmas experience and this was wonderful. Available mid November. My own opinion is that centreparcs was more enjoyable when the children where younger. It can be costly . I would not return anytime soon .

Cockroaches in my kitchen . Lots of them after cooking a meal . Staff told me they are not cockroaches even though the pictures are pretty obviously young brown cockroaches. Minimal refund of £100 even tho I’ve spent £600 on my 3 night stay . £100 was offered to stop me doing a formal complaint and not post any details . I refused the £100 and am going down the formal route

Great stay at whinfell. Lodge was very clean and had everything we needed in it. However, needs a bit of a freshen up. Sofa was very very tired and uncomfortable. We had one issue with the lodge which was no hot water and within 20 mins of reporting a tech arrived and sorted this. So 5* for this!! Soft plays and parks are very good for the younger kids. Although not checked for older kids being in and too rough (parent fault not centre parcs) just thought it was worth a mention. Are at the Indian which was very very good. Pancake house and Hucks which were good. Nothing special but still good. Kids disco was very very busy. Not enough seats and no kids songs played. This was the only let down. Overall a good stay. We really enjoyed and we will be back very soon all the staff were very helpful when needed and always with a smiling face, this makes all the difference :)

This is our 9th visit to Whinfell. We absolutely love it here. There's so much to see and do, and lots to keep the kids entertained. We barely spent any time in our lodge as we were either walking, cycling, swimming, eating out or doing some of the many activities available. On our last visit, we made a complaint about lodge cleanliness, but this time the lodge was the cleanest it had ever been so we were very happy with that.

Love Whinfell. We have been holidaying at Centerparcs for 17 years. Lodge was clean and the food was great in pancake house and bella italia. However the food delivered from Restaurant Runner was awful. Luke warm pizza, chicken satay with floppy chicken skin on it and revolting satay sauce, duck noodles totally overpowered by nasty sauce. What a let down and a waste of money. Its a shame that a lovely break was spoiled by last night take away.
