Your review Two stay at The Troutbeck Inn October 2009.‎ - ‎ - 2009-10-22 Husband and Wife team Rowan (Manager) and Ken (Chef) own and run the Troutbeck Inn and Appartments. Our welcome from Rowan was friendly and the Blencathra appartment was inviting warm as toast, spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and sweet smelling in all departments, with gallons of hot... more

With eight walking mates, I stayed at The Troutbeck Inn, for 4 nights. The cottages were clean and very comfortable. The accomodation was self catering. We didn't bother with that but enjoyed excellent breakfasts every day in the hotel. Evening meals were first class---a definate if you like to eat well!! The Landlady took over Troutbeck in February of this... more

My partner and I stayed at the Troutbeck to break our journey from the southwest to Scotland for a holiday. Being just a few miles off the M6 near the road towards Keswick the position was ideal. On the day we arrived it was blowing up a real lake district storm. We were glad of the parking close in front... more

We stayed in Blencathra cottage. It was damp, and the en-suite in the twin room smelt of urine , this was perticually bad at night when the smell drifted into the bedroom, the en-suite extractor never worked and there was no window to open to get rid of the disgusting smell of Urine. There was no dishwasher ( who wants... more

We went to the Lake District looking for a place to recover from long hikes up hil and down dale and were delighted to find the Troutbeck Inn. A straightforward place in a good location but what we remember best is the quality of the food in the evenings. We struggled to decide which dishes to order because everything sounded... more

We had hoped for a quiet weekend as a break for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. A comfortable spacious room coupled with a relaxing bar serving good food, wine and beer and all with friendly staff always happy to help. Just a short car ride from Kweswick and all the lake district has to offer. Very reasonably priced... more

The meals were delicious and well presented and the staff were very attentive and polite. My dog was made welcome with the options of having him with me in teh lounge nar when... more

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed a long weekend during July at the Troubeck Inn. Clean and newly refurbished hotel with a relaxed feel to the place. Good service all round and staff helpful. Apart from breakfast, we only ate there in the evening and the food was absolutely delicious. Good local produce, beautifully presented. We will definitely visit again.... more

The hotel and service was very nice. I paid £70 which is a little high because the hotel is far from everything in the Lake district. I will recommend £60 is the price to pay. The owner hadn't good attention, but their employees are very friendly. Room and bar were very clean and beautiful. more
