The room was classy, with a boutique feel was clean and warm and welcoming on a autumnal afternoon. everywhere in this place was spotless, the bathroom was big, it was clean and altogether nice.
The room was nicely lit with table lamps and the decor was modern colours, we decided to get some dinner downstairs in the bar/restaurant. We were seated by another member of staff who again was lovely. this was early evening (17.30)and the bar was buzzing between evening and afternoon customers.
We looked at the menu and there was loads of great choices, my wife and i decided to go for something different rather than our first choices of stuff we have had before. I went for a beef raclette and my wife had the nasi goreng.
The food arrived in good time and we were both happy with our choices, the bar was starting to fill as the evening went on. this place was buzzing and had a real nice vibe. they had a great choice of drinks and some great cocktails and Gins.
We decided to have another drink and a dessert. both of them were served in a plant pot style dish! There was a good portion in both desserts and like everything we had was top class.
We retired for the night and no noise was heard from the bar, had a great nights sleep and the shower was good the bathroom was warm and so was the bedroom. The breakfast was served in another room (not the bar). The girl that served us was great, we had a lovely breakfast.
There is a guy that works there, he is a character and you can see how he adds to the feel of this place and how the girls there enjoy his humour. That tells me that he enjoys his job and he gets a buzz from being there.
We checked out and settled the bill, i asked the staff member if it was ok for us to leave our car there for an hour while we took a walk around Penrith. they were happy to oblige. The hotel/bar is in a lovely old building that is like the tardis, it looks like its well received by the locals aswell as passing trade.
I would definitely look to stay here again, it has everything and more. its very well priced and located nicely near the M6. We did this stay as part of a Scottish road trip so good parking and easily located was the criteria we needed. this place more than delivered!
Thanks to everyone at the Lounge hotel & bar for making our stay a good one!
We visited the restaurant on a Monday afternoon.
Was very pleasant with well placed outdoor seating with rain cover. The staff were helpful and friendly.
There was plenty to choose from on the menu.
Then the end of July 2021 stayed here for a couple of nights.
The hotel entrance is the same as the restaurant entrance that I wasn't keen on personally, you check in to the same reception and the entrance to the rooms is directly behind this.
I wasn't aware of how far we would have to walk 1 set of stairs & 4 corridors, I wish I had checked this prior as my back suffered for this with luggage etc. So if you have mobility issues definitely remember to mention when booking.
The staff were all attentive & helpful.
The breakfast was really lovely, with a menu to choose from but they were accommodating to my request to change items etc.
The room was neat and tidy with a nespresso coffee machine & 4 pods provided, kettle with coffee, tea, decaff & sugar but no sweetner so if you use this I would suggest bringing your own.
They also had a small cupboard with a few drawers, one with hairdryer and space for several hanging clothes. One drawer has hair dryer.
The bed was comfy, but the tog was rather high for the temperature, this is a personal preference and I'm sure they would have accommodated a lower tog if requested.
There was a fan in room, however it was a little dusty so I had to wipe clean myself as my partner as Asthma and this would cause a flare up, a shame it was overlooked as the room and bathroom were both of a high standard.
They have hand soap and shower body wash available but I wasn't keen on the scent, very floral & strong.
The shower was a walk in one with both normal and raindrop shower head with a good pressure that I love.
The TV was a smart TV so you can log into your accounts like netflix, prime and so on.
There were bedside lights and a mian light all can be turned on & off from either side of the bed. There were some USB plugs sockets and many sockets available. The tea & coffee station was on a stable with a chair.
It was a small but smart room.
The room was absolutely fantastic and very big. The bathroom was very spacious and modern with a separate shower and bath. The room also provided tea and coffee making facilities and there was also a coffee machine. We both said that we’ve never stayed in such a clean and immaculate hotel room in all the places we’ve been and the cleanliness of the bathroom was 10/10. Overall we couldn’t fault the room at all.
Breakfast was included and could choose anything from the breakfast menu which I didn’t expect! We had smoked salmon and eggs, Cumbrian breakfast and the banoffe waffle. They all tasted amazing and couldn’t fault anything.
We also had our evening meal there on the second night and again couldn’t fault anything. There were lots of options to choose from and also lots of cocktails/ drinks. We enjoyed our meals that much we had our meal there again on the last night. Compliments to the chefs.
All the workers there were very friendly and accommodating and wound highly recommended staying/eating here. Will definitely be coming back sometime in the future.
Thank you for a lovely stay.
We had a meal both nights… ordered the same food as it was so delicious off the street food menu…
Breakfast was amazing… choice of cereals, yogurt, fruit and juices… you can order coffee and teas… and what a choice from the cooked breakfast menu… AMAZING… we had the guiness rarebit one morning absolutely delicious… then the other morning I just asked for scrambled eggs with toast(minus smoked salmon) and also the mixed berry waffles with yogurt. I highly recommend this hotel/bar.
Both visits the bar and tables for evening meals was busy it was lovely to see on a Thursday night and Friday… the STAFF are wonderful too.
