We enjoyed a great short break at this hotel. We were travelling with our two small grandchildren, who were also well catered for. The food was fresh and the cooking was exact and well presented at both dinner and breakfast, and represented very good value for money. The fish dishes (sea bass, plaice) were excellent and the Cumberland sausage with... more

Why? If my experience is anything to go by, they'll constantly keep you updated with emailshots despite numerous requests to remove your email address from their mailing list. Of course, they don't give you an option to opt out from the drivel they send. They say they will, and it seems to stop for a while, then back it comes... more

My wife and I arrived at this hotel with some trepidation as I'd booked it first and then we'd read the somewhat negative Tripadvisor reviews later! Overall I was pleasantly surprised. It is by no means outstanding, but it has a lovely position overlooking the lake and a welcoming feel. Our room was fairly basic but clean and perfectly acceptable.... more

My husband, mum, dad, sister, brother-in-law and myself all stayed here on Saturday 8th August with our room and my parents room being superior and my sister & BIL's being a standard room. We all loved our rooms and they were much better than I expected after looking at the website photos - my mum and dad also had views... more

On arrival the Inn itself was easily located ; the carpark was large and easily accessable. We were greeted in a friendly curtious manner; signing in couldn't have been easier. We were made to feel welcome from the onset. The accomadation was more than adequate; beeing clean, comfortable, airy with all expected facillities. The restaurant and bar both provide excellent service,... more

After a lovely long walk, my hubby and I decided to make our way to this pub which was at the bottom of our camp site. The menu in the bar was fancy and pricey, but we were not deterred, as we hoped we'd get value for money and so paid up front. We ordered the "fell lamb hot pot"... more

We stayed here for a week late in June. We had room 14 because it was supposedly wheelchair friendly. This was only partially true. Access from the main hotel to get annexe or stable rooms as they call them was not easy to do a steep ramp down to the area where the room was located, we also had to... more

The location is lovely and if you stop for just bed and breakfast you'll love the place. The real problem is the bar and the food. Avoid the local beer in the bar because it's not very nice (I'm not an expert but i would say it's the way it's been kept). As for the food well there i can... more
