I booked this guest house for its location as it is close to Penrith ( which is where I needed to be ) but in a lovely quiet village just a couple of miles away . The grounds are large and laid mostly to lawns. They could do with a bit of TLC though as they are quite neglected. My first impressions were not good and proved to be right. The public areas of this guest house are very old fashioned and tired looking, although fairly clean.
I was not impressed by the owners at all, they were very offhand and did not give me the impression at all that they were pleased to see me.
As I was was working in the area I was hoping to have an evening meal on my arrival as this is advertised on every site I have looked at , I even saw a review saying how good the meals are ,this was not so apparently they no longer can provide evening meals. I had to visit a local pub which although was good it was very expensive.
Breakfast was not bad , but I was limited to having breakfast only... more
