We found this hotel to be ok, but not very practical with children. It is very centrally located in Bowness behind the church - but is very noisy at night (or should I say early morning about 2am - 3am)! We stayed in a lovely cottage called Rose Cottage right in the middle of Hawkshead village. It was ideal for lots of lovely walks around the surrounding countryside, and great for pub meals in the evenings. Rose cottage was a very charming place, ideally located in the heart of Bowness. The room was elegantly decorated and of a decent size, with nice finishing touch.
