just read the review on the 28th April and I must say my experience was the complete opposite. we stayed for 2 nights and booked DBB via the web (cheaper than booking direct with hotel) and the food was excellent. on both nights my wife and I ate the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection and the other 2... more

Friendly & Cosy. We visited in February and the tarns were frozen. Great walks as was no rain. Hotel was very warm. 4 flights of very steep stairs to our room. Lots and lots of stairs and no lift - no good if you are not fit! Breakfast was OK but tomatoes were a bit off - tasted odd. Food... more

As we arrived we noticed a sign outside saying "Rooms £45 a night", having paid £200 for one night we had great expectations of the room we were getting. This hotel is set in a beautiful location. this is the only good thing about the hotel. This hotel is what I would only describe as a poor, shabby 70's building,... more

On the other, it is in a lovely location and has certain charms. I booked a basic double room and, within 10 minutes, I was upgraded after complaining. There was... more

We too were lucky to have our room upgraded to a lovely, lake view with patio doors. Nice big bathroom with corner bath and separate shower. The... more

W e are just back after a one night stay and I have to say that we had a lovely time at the Beech Hill Hotel. The room was huge and had a fabulous view of the lake. Lovely comfortable king size bed, lots of hot water and great food and staff. I had only two gripes - the room... more
