Our room was lovely - clean, comfortable, well-equipped and with fantastic view of lake and sliding windows onto terrace. Stepping out into corridor was a different story - many areas were very shabby, with peeling wallpaper , chipped paintwork and some landings looking more like a furniture storage area. Having seen this we were so glad that we had pushed... more

we have just celebrated our daughters wedding and it was fabulous, you couldnt fault anything, the staff were all very helpful and Donna (the wedding co-ordinator)did an excellent job to make Nicola and Martyn's day go without any hitches. Everyone in the wedding party thoroughly enjoyed their stay at The Beech Hill, we would highly recommend it as the perfect... more

We arrived hoping for a room with a lakeside view and we were not disappointed. Sliding doors led out onto a lawn that sloped down to the lake and we could sit outside and relax watching the boats sail by. The room was a good size and comfortable bed. We had the 3 course meal and there was a good... more

We have just come back from a five day break at the hotel and are so pleased with the differences we've noticed. We have stayed numerous times previously and never had cause for complaint; however, it is noticeable that they have "upped the anti." From the initial telephone call to reservations asking for a heater to be placed in the... more

Have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Beech Hill - a stay which will not be repeated, for a variety of reasons. Entering the hotel from the car park, you are faced with four flights of stairs before you reach reception. You are directed to your room, which is four flights back down the way, after a... more

My partner and I have recently stayed at the Beech Hill Hotel with some friends and have had a thoroughly brilliant time. I can't believe the content of recent reviews although i do understand that everybody is entitled to their own opinion. All of all rooms that we stayed in were of a very high standard , very clean etc... more

Our room was 178 for 2 nights. We paid a 50 pound deposit pre-arrival. when we arrived the arrogant inexperienced receptionisttold us it was company policy to take a further 278 from my account (in case we spent anything!!!) I argued the toss but stupidly backed down and allowed her to take 178 (even though we only owed them 128) as... more

For the fifth year running we have had a four day stay at the Beech Hill Hotel and as ever, had a great time. We had two rooms, one with sliding doors onto the lawn, the other a room specially for disabled on the gound floor. Both these rooms are well decorated and furnished - the disabled one is superb... more

We booked into the hotel for a romantic weekend away, which turned out to be very romantic as my now husband, then boyfriend proposed to me here, but thst is the only good memory about this hotel. When we arrived we realised that the car park was down a steep hill and then the entry into the hotel is up... more
