The room was clean and tidy. The breakfast was fantastic, lots and lots of choice. The location is very good for Bowness, 5-10 min walk to the lake and the restaurants. Its also a short 5-10 minute walk to Windermere. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if up that way. more

I did not like this B&B. It was the worst I have ever stayed in. Looking at the pictures of the rooms on the website, it seems nice but our room was nothing like this. I booked this hotel because the owners had the same surname as me. What a good choice, they were (of course) lovely. The room was scrupulously clean and very comfortable and quiet, I slept really well. We stayed at St. John'sLodge in August 2007. Although the weather was not great the hospitality offered by Sue and Barry was second to none.
