Just returned today from a really nice 3-night stay. Greeted at the door by Wayne and we knew straightaway that it was going to be a good place to enjoy our break. Bedroom had a 4-poster bed which was really cosy and comfy. The room had everything and everywhere was clean and tidy. The breakfast had a lot of choices and we picked a different choice each morning and all were excellent. Alison and Wayne were very friendly and chatting to guests at the end of their breakfasts each day and had lots of information and advice about the area. We will certainly be staying there again and looking forward to being greeted again by Sherlock the friendly and playful dog. We went for a restful shortbreak after a stressful house move and we got that and more.

Booked this B&B for our first visit to the Lake District. Excellent location about 10 minutes from the bars/restaurants of Windermere and 25/30 minutes from Bowness bars/restaurants and boats to tour the lake. We stayed 3 nights there is free street parking around the B&B, parked on arrival and did not get in the car again until leaving. We were in room 2 great for our needs during our stay, breakfast was a great way to start the day, made to order at the time of your choice served in the front room of the house. Wayne and Alison were great hosts and very knowledgeable about the area, two types of guests us tourists and walkers, we heard Wayne advising walkers of the best types of walks throughout the Lake District. One thing we did not think about was the possible need for house shoes, we were lucky with the weather mostly dry so were OK but if it had been wet/muddy as it is a private residence you need to leave shoes at the door. This was a great base for our trip walked to Bowness for a boat trip to Brockhole and Ambleside spent most of the day doing this, our second day we booked a mini bus trip from Windermere Tourist Centre Ten Lakes Spectacular a full day trip, great day and excellent way to see the area.…

This is a lovely place to stay, the rooms are well decorated and homely. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice. Would highly recommend. It is within walking distance of windermere town and a five min drive to Bowness. The host and sherlock the dog were very friendly and helpful.

Room was lovely and it was also spacious. The breakfast was amazing so much choice and the option to have it delivered to your room was fab and something I have never seen in a B&B. Great place to stay. Lovely owners who are friendly and know the area well. We stayed in the 4 poster bedroom so comfy and a good size. Shower was good too. Good choice for breakfast. Guests can use the dining room for eating their evening meal. Hope to come back next year and would stay again. Thanks Wayne and Alison.

We have recently returned from a 5 day stay at Laurel Cottage. We stayed in the four poster bedroom, which was extremely comfortable and spacious. It had everything you could need, including toiletries, tea and coffee, hairdryer and a very comfortable sofa which you could use for watching the television which could also be spun round to be able to watch in bed! Ali and Wayne ( the hosts) were both friendly and welcoming, if you needed help in local knowledge they were more than happy to assist, once breakfast were cooked, they would often come to chat as we finished our drinks. The breakfasts were locally sourced delicious produce, there was a very wide range too. The dining room was also there in the evening should guests want to eat in there to eat take away for evening meal. There was also a microwave which guests are welcomed to use. This hotel is well placed for the towns of Windermere and Windermere on Bowness, at the same time it is very quiet and tranquil, we slept with the sash window open every night, we were not woken by any noise or traffic. We will definitely be returning, and we hope if you are thinking to book then you will find this helpful and book for yourself. You won’t be disappointed…

stayed here for a couple of nights for a little get away for me and our lass, we were message on our day off arrival when our room was ready and how to get in the property as they were doing a contact less check in system. our room was small but just what we needed just for the 2 of us to use as a base while we explored the area. the choice of food for our breakfast was plenty and the food itself was great and we didnt find we were needing something else afterwards as we were both full. the owners were very friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable if you wanted to know something of the area or where to go/visit. we cant fault this place enough

Just spent a lovely 3 days at Laurel Cottage. Could not fault anything. Room was spotless and after being out in the rain all day was warm and cosy to come back to. Everything we needed was in the room, especially tea, coffees, hot chocolate and biscuits. Owners Wayne and Alison were great and couldn't of done anymore. Breakfast was gorgeous and good choice. You could use dining room of an evening to eat takeaway. Can highly recommend and would stay again. Lastly thank you Wayne and Alison for introducing us to your beautiful pooch Sherlock .

Four nights in a very rainy Lake District So glad we had a nice comfortable guest house to return to each evening. The owners were friendly and helpful and provided a really good breakfast choice. The homemade yogurt and prunes is a must Everything you need is there. Good quality tea tray Luckily there was a disposable shower cap (I forgot mine) There is a microwave in the dining room which you are able to use if you have a takeaway in the evening Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend
