We have just returned from a 2 night stay with family at the Glenburn. Staff were warm and welcoming, breakfasts were very nice and the hotel was cosy & clean. The hotel provides an excellent base for people wishing to explore the lakes and is a nice stroll from both Windermere and Bowness. There were lots of positive comments in... More

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It is very much appreciated as so many guests always promise to give reviews but I would say only one out of every 10 actually do it. The snow has nearly gone after causing so much havoc but it was lovely while it lasted and the scenery was wonderful. I... More

My husband, daughter and myself stayed at The Glenburn for a weekend in January and found the hotel to be very clean and comfortable. Jackie, the owner and her staff made us feel very welcome. Evening meal and breakfast were delicious with a very good choice (try the kippers!!!). I am astonished at comments by "SorrentoSun" as we found everything... More

Thanks for the great review. So pleased you enjoyed your visit. I must admit cooking Kippers was my biggest dread as chef was on holiday so my method was slightly different to his but it obviously worked, thank you. I hope you will visit us again. Really appreciate your review thank you. More

On arriving at the Glenburn we were given a map of the area and some of the best places to eat and drink, which we took up on and proved to be correct. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was lovely. Good location, 10 mins from shops and lake and 20 mins from the view point... More

We have just returned from a wonderful 3 days in the Lakes. Our stay in River Cottage at the Glenburn was really lovely. The cottage was as expected from the reviews that we had read - new furniture, clean bedding, very spacious etc. The sound of the rushing stream directly beside the cottage was a real treat too. We ate... More

Thank you for your review. It wasn't the best of weekends weather wise but it didn't seem to bother the children at all. Pity you could not visit Ingleton, but there's always next time. Hope we see you in the summer. Thank you More

We had a really relaxing and much-needed short break here. We were made extremely welcome (complementary tea and delicious scone) and our room was lovely: large, comfortable bed, attractive decor, etc. We had our evening meal at the hotel and it was delicious (we had the lamb shank). Every member of staff we encountered was really friendly and helpful and... More

I booked the Glenburn as a Surprise for my Husbands 50th Birthday, and also arranged with our lovely friends from Scotland to stay at the Hotel, and share this lovely "Surprise" with us! Part of the reason for booking the Glenburn was based on the good reviews on trip advisor and being able to do a virtual tour of the... More

Thank you for your kind review. We just needed Cilla to walk in and shout Surprise Surprise. It must have taken weeks to organise his Birthday surprises without him finding out. Let's hope he does the same for you this year. Trip Advisor is an open book and all guests can write their personal views and yes some can cut... More
