Stayed at Fir Trees for a weekend. Fir Trees is ideally place between Windermere and Bowness, about 10min stroll from each so no need for taxi's. Cannot fault the guest house at all. The owners, Bea and Bob Towers, are extremely friendly. They allowed us to deposit luggage with them before check in and after check out. After sightseeing on a rainy day, they offered to dry our shoes overnight to make them ready for the next morning. Bea's English breakfasts are delicious. Bea and Bob run a superb bed and breakfast. They are extremely helpful and always willing to offer advice about the local amenities. Everywhere is clean, and breakfast was wonderful. The beds are very comfortable, and the accommodation is spacious. I have just returned from my second visit there and have already recommended this establishment to others. more
