We travelled to Windermere for a 2 night break for our 1st Wedding Anniversary. Our room was very clean and had a lovely view from the front of the guest house. The Ashleigh definately deserves its 4 stars as you are very well looked after. We would definately return and recommend to others. more

Guest house is situated in the heart of Windermere which makes it easy for those wishing to explore other parts of the lake district. Rooms were spotlessly clean, though bathrooms on the small side. Though one cannot expect more in those areas. Breakfast need not say anything...really fullfulling english breakfast with cereals, fruit, tea or coffee and above all toast...hmmm... more

We ended up in this B&B by chance but we're glad we did. The house is on a quiet road just a few minutes walking distance from Windermere's amenities (including a supermarket, the tourist information center, the train station and most of the shops and restaurants in town). Our room (n.5, on the top floor) was clean and very spacious.... more

Nice friendly warm welcome on arrival. Close to all amenities 2 mins walk but still situated in a quiet area. Room was vey spacious also impressed with the size of the en-suite bathroom. We enjoyed our stay in this conveniently located B & B in Windermere. The room was spacious and comfortable as was the en-suite. The breakfast was excellent with a good menu including fish. Would certainly stay here again more

Ok, so, reading the reviews for this guest house I was expecting great things, however I have now realised that some of the positive comments were slightly exaggerated. I'm not saying the guest house was bad but it was certainly verging on average by guesthouse and B&B standards. I booked a double room and we were given what was actually... more

We are sorry you where not satisfied with your 3 day stay at ashleigh and would have wished you have said during your stay we may have be able to have helped. The room that you booked online clearly stated it was the smallest room in the house and also on the ground floor as this is reflected in it...

A cosy guest house tucked away neatly with a beautiful view from the dining room. The room was cosy and plush with tasteful decor. We reached Windermere by rail and the guest house was minutes away by walk. The high street was easily accessible. Bus stop nearby made journey's easy but we had to programme in advance due to limited... more

On arriving here I thought to myself I am so glad I picked Ashleigh out of the numerous hotels & guest houses I had to choose from, what a lucky find it was! My husband agreed it was a good choice. It has a lovely warm, cozy feel to it as soon as you enter the front door and you... more

Ashleigh has to be the cleanliness accomodation we've ever stayed in. We're amaze at how they kept the place so well. Breakfast was good. Decent size rooms and toilet. We had the room for 3 and while the double bed was great, the single bed needs looking into. You can feel the spring of the bed when you lie down... more

Having just spent four of the most memerable days in this beautiful establishment, I feel that I have to write a short review so that others can enjoy the experience. From the moment we met the proprietors of Ashleigh, Alan and Brenda Smith [and their daughter Julie] we felt completely at home. Alan has a wonderful sense of humour and... more
