Took my wife there for Ruby anniversary and we were disgusted at this CASTLE I have seen cleaner boarding houses in the lower end of the market. Having recently undergone knee surgery we asked for a walk in shower but were given a bath with shower overhead bearing in mind there are upwards of 450 rooms I feel this could... more

Someone mentioned in an earlier review Fawlty Tower...by god is it! Couldnt even see out the windows they were that dirty, i almost hung out of it myself to clean it as you couldnt see daylight! Room was awful and demanded to be moved which was a bit better and bigger! Plug in bath broke, couldnt empty it so therefore... more

just returned from weekend courtesy of Kingshill travel, group of 12 for line dance weekend. good value for money, our bedroom was a little small for a double room, but other members of our party who had booked twin rooms were pleased at the size, so obviously it is better to book twin rooms. No complaints about the food, constantly... more

Stayed here for a line dance weekend. Dancing brilliant but hotel disappointing. Room very musty, broken toilet seat, chewing gum on the window sill & no hot water the whole weekend (the other end of the hotel had scorching hot water!) Antiquited furniture. When we went up to our room at 3pm the corridor was littered with rubbish taken from rooms... more

The worst hotel I have stayed in. I am amazed this hotel has received some good reviews. The only explanation to that there must be some 'decent' rooms somewhere in the large hotel. We certainly didn't have one. We had 2 rooms on the ground level and the corridor and bedrooms smelt overpoweringly of smoke! There was even an ashtray... more

Excellent room all dark wood furniture, lovely modern bathroom with whirlpool bath. Staff service was very good, any problems were dealt with at reception. The only one I had was changing the batteries on the tv remote control. Room was cleaned every day, fresh towels and tea/coffee/milk sugar & biscuits topped up. The meals were excellent plenty of choice and... more

This hotel was alot better than I expected. Lovely clean comfortable room with excellent ensuite facilities. Room did not have a sea view but was very quiet. The rain encouraged us to use the spa/pool which was good. The bar prices were reasonable for a hotel and the food choice good. Breakfast times went from quiet to very busy and... more

Just back from a 1 night stay in the Norbreck and don't really see what the problem is. The entire hotel could be doing with a lick of paint but that apart, our room was clean, fine and warm. The windows could do with a clean but we don't go to hotels to sit in the room and look out... more

Me my friends and famliy stayed in this hotel last year and were disapointed with our stay there. Unfortunaly me and my friend (both aged 12) stayed in a room next to some moisy dusturbing people, who were shouting and swaering all night - we complained to the reception staff and they never showed up to help. So we had... more
