We stayed for 4 nights in Sept, and altough the breakfast was a bit manic, the Hotel was very clean and tidy, our room was adequate, and service was always with a smile, I am certainly looking forward to going back, oh the location right on the North Prom, with good views of Ireland on a clear day - honest. more

Thanks for the review Andy. We're glad you enjoyed your stay so much you'd come back to us - thats our aim. Yes, I agree...September is our busiest month and when we're full the breakfast can be manic. We've extended our breakfast times to try and ease this. Now breakfast, when busy, is served from 8am to 10:30am and we've...

We have returned from our 3rd stay at the Canasta and cannot wait to return. We were met at the reception by Dougie the hotel owner, who greeted us like family with a warm and friendly welcome, we were not not just checked and given keys, we were given complimentary tea and coffee which if wanted are available all day... more

Have just come back from a 3 night stay at the Canasta. What can I say? We arrived 2 hours earlier than the checkout time stated, but were shown to our rooms within minutes. Bedrooms were a little small, but at £21 a night, they were better than i had expected. Went downstairs to the bar for a drink, we... more

Thanks for the glowing review ktmax. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Yes - the standard double rooms (which we had an offer on at that time) are a little compact (as are the shower and toilets) but I think they're adequate for a two or three night stay. For longer stays we try and allocate larger rooms...

Just got back from a 2 night family stay (all ages) at the Canasta. I would like to say that this hotel offers the best value for money stay that you could wish for. The service was excellent and staff were all friendly without exception. The general cleanliness of the hotel area and bedrooms was very good and the overall... more

Dont know wheter it was that we were Irish or that we had a child. The last day the worst , ordered breakfast , then they forgot about us, just got worse and worse Temperature in the... more

I'm sorry we didn't live up to our reputation for you!! Let's go through the points you made, however. You start by saying the reception desk location is terrible? I'm at a loss to answer this one - it has to be one of the strangets complaints I have EVER had. I'm sorry you didn't like the breakfast. The "swirly"...

Tried to book into the Canasta hotel over the phone after reading the positive reviews. Received short thrift over the phone when I questioned the price I was quoted (as it was higher than the price quoted on the website). When I politely asked why the price was higher, I was told 'if I don't like the price I should... more

Arrived at the Canasta after a long drive from north east of Scotland to be welcomed by the owner ( Dougie) who offered us a pot of tea or coffee , a great touch which was repeated every time we returned to the hotel no matter what time of day. Our room was very clean with clean towels every day... more

Thanks for the honest report. I agree as we are only four blocks from North Pier I think we're in the best spot in Blackpool - I wouldn't swap it with any other hotel! Yes - the dining tables need spacing out and sometimes the girls don't do it effectively - I'll need to work on that. We do have...

My husband and I have just returned from a weekend at The Canasta, I can only agree with the previous positive comments about this hotel, the staff are very friendly and attentive, we had no problems finding a space in the car park at the front of the hotel, tea or coffee offered when we arrived, in fact each afternoon... more

Thanks for your kind comments and for rating us so highly. I should mention that although we have spaces for 18 vehicles we don't guarantee parking. Some weekends everybody arrives by car and the later arrivals need to find street parking nearby (It is free on well lit main road) Just didn't want to give impression that we can ALWAYS...

My parents who are in their early 60's decided late last week that they fancied Blackpool for a night. Therefore I reviewed some hotels on the promenade area and found this hotel which after reading the reviews seemed appropriate. I booked this hotel and we were very happy with its location, as its away from the hustle and bustle of... more

Thanks for your constructive comments. I agree the toilets/showers are compact - unfortunately we inherited these and it would cost a fortune to re-model each floor. As Blackpool has become a short stayover destination we feel the toilets are just about big enough to manage with. For longer staying guests we try and allocate them rooms with more room, but...
