We have just returned from a 4 night break at this hotel, we were a little concerned after reading the reviews but we had a lovely time there, we had a room with sea view it was clean and very comfortable, with all the usual amenities, the meals were excellent and well presented, we would recommend this hotel to anyone... more

Stayed here for a long weekend as we did the previous year. Encountered problems on checking in, unfortunately we were informed that they didnt have the rooms we had booked! Eventually we were shown a room on the top floor which was unsuitable, dark, dirty and smelled of old musk. However after half an hour we were informed that they... more

We took our sister to stay in Blackpool for her 30th Birthday, the staff at the hotel made our stay perfect. If you ever stay there (Dave) a member of staff there will make you feel very welcome, and will also provide any thing you need to ensure that your stay will be the best...We would recomend the hotel to... more

I have just returned from the Chequers Plaza, and especially went back as David McMillan the GM and the team he brought with him had made vast improvements in the service and standards of this hotel. Only to find that he had been disposed of together with the Front of House team he brought in. As quick as the standards... more

We have just returned from Chequers Plaza Hotel. We stayed there in January and it was fantastic but not this time. We worried about car parking but neednt have cos it was half empty, and now we know why. On check-in, we waited more than 10 minutes to be attended to! We felt as if we were not welcome, and... more

Oh Dear! Do not stay here! From the outside, the hotel looks like any normal 3star hotel you would expect, small, low key, nothing special about it... Oh this place has special points alright, not that they're to boast about! Upon entering the hotel to check in around mid afternoon, I had an approximate 10minute wait before anyone even bothered... more

Blackpool is Blackpool and not Ipanema. Go with the flow - at least to some extent. North Promenade could be sort of Bournemouth. Chequers is well positioned on the N Prom. Handy bus and tram stops. Take your Bus Passes, which don't work on the trams. Room 102 had a small view of the Irish Sea and was clean, warm... more

Having looked at the earlier reviews we were a little nervous about our one night visit, those nerves proved to be unfounded. This is a great hotel, it puts me in mind of a small hotel trying to be bigger than it is, but succeeding in the process. We arrived way to early, but that was no problem, the lady... more
